Beauty Tip Tuesdays: Starting a Juice Cleanse

Beauty Tip Tuesday is back again! Have you ever done a juice cleanse before? Well, I just did my first one yesterday and it was so hard… How does anyone get through 3 days? I know I couldn’t, I think I love food way too much. Since it’s Valentine’s day today, my mom was talking about doing something special for me and the first thing that popped in her head was food! And then we started talking about how that’s bad since we are trying to eat healthier but food always makes me happy. I love trying new vegan food places here in San Diego, I think it’s great! Expand our taste buds I say! I’ve always wanted to try a juice cleanse before and when Nekter had their grand opening in La Jolla their juice cleanse ended up being half off so I thought why not! I ended up getting one for me and my mom to try the juice cleanse together so we can keep each other on track. My juice cleanse came with 6 drinks all together and you can drink one every 2 hours. In the booklet that came with our juice cleanse we just followed the times that where given to us to follow as a guide line: 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, & 6pm. So yesterday I slept in longer then normal so when I wake up I could just start my cleanse instead of being hungry for an hour or so, and that extra hour of sleep was much needed! I actually cheated during my juice cleanse by having a small salad after my 4pm juice… oops! My body needed actually chewable food! But the actual juice cleanse itself definitely made my body feel great & healthy again! The juices tasted fine and kept me going! I think if I kept myself busy while on the juice cleanse I could definitely do it again AND adding water in between each juice since the next day (today) I felt like my body was dehydrated and a little weak since I was missing my water intake that I normally do, if I did that then I could possibly go all the way through but not longer than a day. A day is my limit! That would be too hard to do a 3 day or even 5 day cleanse. I definitely want to start juicing again every morning before I eat my actual breakfast so my body can be on the right track for the day and give my body the essential vitamins and nutrients it needs to keep going! If you’re on the fence about doing a juice cleanse, I say go for it, try it out, and maybe get a buddy to do it with so you can motivated each other and be on the same page! It was fun while it lasted and I can say that I offical ‘sort of’ did an all day juice cleanse! Yay! Happy Valentines day!
